On Friday, 11 December 2015, a briefing was hosted at the Ambassador's Residence introducing the 2nd International Meeting of the "Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crimes" (GAAMAC) on "Preventing atrocities: How to strengthen national atrocity prevention architectures". This global conference will take place in Manila from 2 to 4 February 2016.

GAAMAC is an inclusive, State-led network created in March 2013 by States and NGOs joining together to engage in the prevention of atrocities. GAAMAC provides a platform for exchange, dialogue and the dissemination of learning and good practice in prevention. It supports States in building their capabilities to prevent mass atrocity crimes (war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and ethnic cleansing) as well as in developing and implementing national prevention strategies. It serves as a space for exchange and sharing among different communities of practice and stakeholders.
