In 2017, GAAMAC established a Support Office in Geneva with the aim to assist the GAAMAC Chair, currently Ms. Mô Bleeker, Switzerland’s Special Envoy for Dealing with the Past and Atrocity Prevention. The Support Office also supports the Steering Group, prepares the biennial global meetings and maintains the website. The Support Office receives generous funding from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
Ms. Mô Bleeker is Chair of GAAMAC and serves as Special Envoy for Dealing with the Past and Prevention of Atrocities at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), where she has been working in different positions since 2003. Currently, she also serves in Colombia as Special Envoy for the Peace Process between ELN and the Colombian Government and the implementation of the Peace Agreement between the FARC and the Government. Ms. Bleeker has chaired the International Advisory Board of the National Historical Memory Commission in Colombia and the Transitional Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) of the Peace Agreement on the Bangsamoro in the Philippines. She has accompanied complex transition process in Central America, Colombia, the Balkans, South-, Southeast-, and Central Asia as well as in several different regions of Africa. Ms. Bleeker studied anthropology, religion sciences, journalism and social communication and holds a post-graduate diploma in development studies at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
The Support Office consists of four staff, and during the university semester one intern from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, with which the Support Office has entered a strategic partnership.

Ms. Jelena Pia-Comella, Managing Coordinator
Jelena Pia-Comella is the Managing Coordinator of the GAAMAC Support Office. Jelena started her career in 1996 as a diplomat representing Andorra at the United Nations, the United States and Canada. From January to June 2008 she consulted with the Center for Women’s Global Leadership and Women’s Environment and Development Organization and since then until July 2018 was the Deputy Executive Director of the World Federalist Movement – Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP). Jelena holds a Master’s degree in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University in New York.
Ms. Anne-Laure Jollivet, Finance and Administration Manager
Anne-Laure Jollivet provides all financial and administrative services to the GAAMAC Support Office and the global GAAMAC community. She has twelve years of experience in administration and finance in Switzerland, the United States, France and Spain. Anne-Laure holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from École supérieure de commerce et management (ESCEM) in Tours, France.
Ms. Sabrina Thalmann, Communications Officer
Sabrina Thalmann is responsible for communication at the GAAMAC Support Office. She has extensive experience in digital, print and event communications in the non-profit sector. Sabrina also worked as an intern for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). She also worked several years as a German teacher. She holds a B.A. in Contemporary History and German Literature and a M.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Geneva, as well as a M.A. in European Studies from the University of Bath.
Ms. Elena Müller, Coordination Officer
Elena Müller is the Coordination Officer of the GAAMAC Support Office. She has gained practical experience in project management, coordination work and liaison support in the private sector – with a special focus on Central Asian states. She then completed an internship in the political division of a Swiss diplomatic mission and worked as an intern for UNHCR, the UN refugee agency. In 2017 Elena obtained a M.A. in English Literature, Law and Political Science from the University of Zurich.
The Support Office team is also composed of Mr. Ajay Chaudhary and Mr. Jake Loeffen-Ames who provide Web administration, IT advice, and general IT support and systems administration.
