Civil Society and Inclusive Peace. Key insights and lessons from a global consultation convened on Peace Insight
Peace Direct teamed up with the Inclusive Peace & Transition Initiative (IPTI) and the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) to look into the dynamics of inclusivity and peacebuilding.
This recent piece from the "Local Voices for Peace" series draws on the insights generated from two online consultations with local and international civil society peacebuilders from across the world. The report summarizes the key themes and issues of the discussion and develops recommendations to enrich the participation of civil society groups in peace processes. Case studies from Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and the West Bank explore strategies used by grassroots peacebuilders to overcome the challenges to effective inclusion in peacebuilding.
