Digital Dilemmas Dialogue #1: Data protection in a COVID world

12 Jan 2021 | Online

What does data protection mean in a COVID world? Has our acceptance of digital surveillance changed due to the pandemic? And what are its consequences for humanitarian settings?

To mark the launch of the DigitHarium – A digital humanitarian forum, the ICRC has invited professor Joseph A. Cannataci, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to privacy. We will discuss how data protection concerns are changing in a COVID-infested world – and what its implications are for humanitarian settings.
The discussion will be the first event of the January thematic path - COVID-19 and Digital Response.
